Cardiff have been short of front-line cover since Ross McCormack's injury
Manchester City forward Kelvin Etuhu has joined Cardiff City on a season-long loan.
The deal was completed before noon on Saturday, meaning that the 21-year-old goes straight into the Bluebirds' squad for Sunday's visit of Bristol City.
Cardiff have been short of cover for Jay Bothroyd and Michael Chopra since Ross McCormack's hamstring injury.
"We are really pleased to get Kelvin," said Cardiff boss Dave Jones, who beat interest from Wolves and Portsmouth.
"He's a Premier League player... it looked like he was going to Wolves but there was a hitch and we stepped in," Jones told the Bluebirds' website.
"He's a big, pacey lad who will give us options across the front line."
Etuhu is available for Cardiff in cup matches unless the Welsh side are drawn against Manchester City.
The player, who featured as a substitute in Manchester City's midweek friendly win over Barcelona, grew up in south London and is the younger brother of Fulham striker Dickson Etuhu.
