Purse lost is first team place to Gabor Gyepes and Roger Johnson

Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has confirmed that club captain Darren Purse will not be offered a new deal with the club.

The 32-year-old defender was informed of the decision on Wednesday and is in talks with other clubs.

Purse made 123 appearances and scored 10 goals for the Bluebirds since his £750,000 move from West Brom four years ago.

This season, he played 26 times and was sent off twice.
