Ledley played against Arsenal in the FA Cup defeat three years ago
Cardiff City star Joe Ledley insists last season's beaten finalists can cause an FA Cup shock by knocking out Premier League giants Arsenal.
The Championship club have a home tie against the Gunners in the fourth round and the Bluebirds captain is dreaming of a pulling off a giant-killing.
Ledley said: "Anything can happen in football and if we can play as good as we can then we've a good enough chance.
"We proved last season that anyone has a chance in the Cup."
Cardiff beat Reading 2-0 in the third round on Saturday and Arsenal eased past Plymouth Argyle 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
The pair are now scheduled to meet on the weekend of the 24 January.
Arsenal, the 10-times FA Cup winners, have suffered indifferent form in the Premier League this season and are at risk of failing to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 11 years.
Cardiff, meanwhile, have excelled in the Championship this term and are chasing promotion to the Premier League, with Dave Jones' men sitting fourth in the table.
Ledley, born and bred in the Welsh capital, believes the Cardiff faithful will give Arsene Wenger's team an intimidating welcome as they sense another famous Cup shock at Ninian Park.
"Arsenal have great players all the way through their team and will difficult for us," added the Welsh international midfielder.
"But we can cope with that. And if you look at the quality, pace and power in our team, we have a chance. We also defend well and look dangerous on the break.
"The fans will be chuffed with the draw and the game will be a sell-out - I don't think they could have asked for a better team.
"Arsenal are a great footballing side and everyone likes how they play, it's a similar style to what we try to play so it'll be great to test ourselves against the very best.
"It'll be a good game to watch and if the crowd get behind us, it'll give us a lift and put pressure on Arsenal."
Ledley was in the Ninian Park stands when his beloved Cardiff shocked Premier League Manchester City in 1994 and the then top-flight leaders Leeds United in 2002. "I was there when Nathan Blake scored against Manchester City and Scott Young scored the winner against Leeds," stated Ledley.
"Those were great days and the fans were buzzing.
"There was a brilliant atmosphere at Ninian Park as the fans are so close to the pitch."
Now Ledley hopes to cause another FA Cup surprise of his own.
The 21-year-old inspired the Bluebirds to the FA Cup final against Portsmouth last year - and one of his Wembley team-mates that day, Aaron Ramsey, is set for a emotional return to Ninian Park.
Ramsey's FA Cup heroics earned the Cardiff academy graduate a £5m move to Arsenal after the London club beat European and Premier League champions Manchester United to the teenage Wales international's signature.
And Ledley insists the Ninian Park faithful will give Ramsey a rousing reception.
"It'll be great to play against him and the fans will be happy to see him down here again," said Ledley.
"With Cesc Fabregas injured hopefully he might play, which will be great for both him and us.
"He maybe thought he would never play at Cardiff again but the chance has come.
"There'll be a bit of banter between us and Aaron in the build-up but when it comes to the day, both sides will just concentrate on the football."
Ledley is one of only two surviving members of the last Bluebirds side to play Arsenal in their 2-1 FA Cup third round defeat at Highbury in 2006.
That was the last FA Cup campaign at Arsenal's old home and in a bit of Cup symmetry, this is the last season at Cardiff's dilapidated Ninian park before the club move into their new home this summer.
"We are much better now than we were then," said Ledley.
"We've got much more pace, we're stronger, more organised, more experienced and have more quality in the team."
Cardiff beat Arsenal in the 1927 FA Cup final at Wembley when the Bluebirds took the world's most famous domestic cup trophy outside of England for the only time.
