Roger Johnson was a target for Swansea two years ago
Cardiff City defender Roger Johnson is confident the Bluebirds can brush aside Welsh rivals Swansea City in next week's Carling Cup derby.
"It's going to be a high tempo game with no tackles being shirked," Johnson told the BBC's Sport Wales programme.
"I'm quite sure we'll come out on top and we'll be looking to make Cardiff proud.
"We want to win every game, but against our local rivals we'll be looking to win even more so."
He added: "If we could get through and draw someone like Chelsea or Manchester United away, it would be a great day for everyone."
The cup game, the first fully-fledged Welsh derby for nine years, is the first of three meetings this season between Championship rivals Cardiff and Swansea.
And Johnson added: "Derbies are great. It will be the first proper derby I've played in with the fans not liking each other as much as (the ones at) these clubs do.
"It's a big game that hasn't happened for a few years and it'll be exciting.
"We'll be looking to make Cardiff proud. It's more for the fans. We'll be looking to give them the bragging rights when they go into work (the next day).
"When it says '3-0 to Cardiff' in the paper..that's our bragging rights.
"I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait. I'll be looking to play and get the win. I love all that kind of stuff.
"It'll be a good night. A little bit of rain will go down well and the tackles will be flying in."
Johnson is hoping the Bluebirds can replicate last year's run in the competition, when they beat West Brom in the third round before going down 2-1 away to Premier League giants Liverpool at the next stage.
"We've got a chance to go through like last year," said the centre back.
"We had a tougher run at this stage (of the competition) last year - I think we had West Brom.
"We've got someone in our league so it's going to be a tough game.
"We had Liverpool (in round four) last year, and that was amazing to go and play at Anfield.
"So there's a lot at stake and if we could get through and draw someone like Chelsea or Manchester United away, it would be a great day for everyone."
Johnson looks ahead to the Welsh derby as part of a new Sport Wales feature "Team Talk" in which he gives the programme a behind-the-scenes tour of Ninian Park before dishing the dirt on his Bluebirds team-mates.
Sport Wales is on Thursday, 18 September at 2200 BST on BBC2 Wales and 2W
