Forde has conceded five goals in his first three games for Cardiff |
David Forde is confident he can prove he deserves to start next season as Cardiff City's first-choice goalkeeper. Forde has played the last three games after the axe fell on Neil Alexander, who is set to leave the club in the summer after rejecting a new deal.
"I've just come into the side so it's been like the start of the season for me," said the 27-year-old.
"I just want to make a big impression and show the manager what I can do. I know there's a lot left in me to come."
Forde joined Cardiff on the first day of the transfer window in January from Eircom Premier League side Derry City.
He has been forced to bide his time behind established goalkeeper Alexander, but a costly mistake by the Scotland international against Sunderland and a breakdown in contract negotiations has given Forde his chance.

His tenure between the posts has not started well, conceding five goals in two defeats and a draw.
The poor run, which now means Cardiff have failed to win in their last six games, has effectively ended the Bluebirds' hopes of making the Championship play-offs.
But Forde says he and the majority of the squad have plenty to play for this season as manager Dave Jones begins to plan for the next campaign.
"I'm feeling good at the moment," Forde told BBC Sport. "To play the last three games has been great for me personally.
"Sometimes as a 'keeper you need a few games under your belt to find your feet and to get to know the players. I feel it's gradually coming together and I know there's a lot more in me.
"It would have been nice to have come into the side earlier in the season, but there's not much I could have done about that.
"I'm just going to play as well as I can and hopefully we'll get three wins in our next three games. You never know where that may take us.
"And we can't take our foot off the gas anyway because the management are looking, and they see everything.
"You have to be on the ball to keep your place, so we'll keep going."
