Jones says Gunter has a big future at the Bluebirds |
Cardiff manager Dave Jones lauded the efforts of debut-making teenager Chris Gunter in the 1-0 home defeat to QPR. Jones says Cardiff's home loss was their "worst display of the season", but he praised Gunter's efforts.
With Kerrea Gilbert injured, the Newport-born right-back, 17, was drafted in after James Chambers returned to Watford from his loan deal.
"I was pleased for him, we're going to see a lot more from his play and he has a big future at this club," said Jones.
"Chris did the right things, let nobody down, and will only get stronger.

"When he settles in he will get forward more - we didn't see much of that against QPR, but he made good runs and tackles, and did the simple things well."
Overall, though, Jones was bitterly disappointed with the Bluebirds' first home defeat of the campaign.
"We didn't do the things we have been doing well all year," Jones told BBC Sport Wales.
"If we are not going to be an attacking force - as we clearly weren't on Friday - we have to shut up shop and get the draw.
"It was poor to lose like that, but we'll analyse it, beat ourselves up over it, and put it right."
