Steve Thompson faces surgery this week on his Achilles problem |
Cardiff will be without striker Steve Thompson for most of November because of an Achilles problem. The Scotland forward, who has struck up a good partnership with top scorer Michael Chopra this season, will undergo surgery this week.
That should rule Thompson, 28, out of Saturday's trip to Colchester, then home ties with Burnley and QPR.
Bluebirds boss Dave Jones is likely to turn to veteran Kevin Campbell although Paul Parry could take an advanced role.
Thompson was withdrawn at half-time in Tuesday night's 2-1 win at Sunderland.
Chopra hit both goals to keep Cardiff four points clear at the top of the Championship table.
