Flood came through the youth system at Manchester City |
Manchester City and Republic of Ireland Under-21 right-wing Willo Flood has signed for Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee. The Bluebirds are believed to have negotiated a deal that will cost 200,000 in a series of instalments.
The tough-tackling 21-year-old Dubliner is expected to be in the squad for Saturday's season opener at Barnsley.
Flood came through the youth system at the Manchester club before signing a professional contract three years ago.
He scored on his full Premiership debut in 2004 but failed to establish himself at Manchester City and spent loan spells at Rochdale and Coventry.
The move is likely to end Cardiff's interest in Swansea wide midfielder Andy Robinson.
