Striker Michael Chopra is eager to make his mark for Cardiff |
Michael Chopra has promised the Cardiff City fans that manager Dave Jones has bought a genuine goalscorer. The striker, 22, signed for the Welsh club last week from Premiership giants Newcastle United.
"Hopefully I can score on my debut, but if not the fans have to be patient as maybe it'll take me two or three games," Chopra told the club's website.
"But after that I can guarantee the goals will come, I've always got belief and if I get the chances I'll score."
Chopra says it was an easy decision to drop to Championship side Cardiff from Premiership Newcastle.
"I was training Monday to Friday, and on Saturday being left out - I'm 22 now and I have to play," said Chopra, who has agreed a three-year Cardiff deal.
"I won't be training with the same calibre of player but I'll be playing."
He was out of contract at the Magpies - who offered him a new one-year deal - but the Bluebirds will have to pay 500,000 because he is under 24.
