McCunnie poised to join Cardiff
Jamie McCunnie
McCunnie wants to play in a tougher league
Former Scotland Under-21 captain Jamie McCunnie is set to join Cardiff City from Ross County.

The right-sided 22-year-old, who can play in midfield or at full-back, is understood to have been training with Cardiff all week.

He has impressed the Bluebirds and is expected to play in Saturday's friendly with Accrington Stanley.

"I enjoyed my time at County, but if I am to make the next step I need to play in a higher league," said McCunnie.

The Scot started his career as a trainee at Dundee United before joining County in June 2003.
