Two Cardiff City players will not join the rest of the squad when they travel by aeroplane to Norwich on Tuesday morning they are afraid of flying. Cardiff boss Dave Jones said the pair, who he refused to name, decided to travel up by car on Monday instead.
"You can't change people who are afraid of flying - you've just got to deal with it," Jones told BBC Wales Sport.
"You can't force them onto an aeroplane because you won't get the best out of them in the game."
Jones said the club had taken the rare decision to fly to Norfolk for the Tueday night Championship match to avoid another tedious bus ride.
He said: "We had a long journey to and from Sheffield over the weekend. We would have had to leave at 0930 GMT on Monday to get to Norwich.
"When we went to Ipswich earlier in this season it took us eight hours.
"The last thing we wanted was another 12 or 14 hours on the bus going to Norwich. Flying was the best option for us."
