Cambridge United captain Danny Brown says he hopes to reward the club's faithful fans with promotion through the Blue Square Premier play-offs.
The U's qualified for the play-offs with a 2-0 win over Torquay on Tuesday.
Brown told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Ever since I've been at Cambridge all I've heard about is Dion Dublin, Steve Claridge and the good old days.
"Now they'll [the fans] have some new heroes to talk about and hopefully give them something to sing about."
He added: "The club's been waiting for it and finally they're going to get their reward."
The U's have won four of their last five matches and Brown believes they are hitting form at just the right time.
"We've had strong, solid performance and you usually find you get a winning mentality," he said.
"At the minute, I don't feel like we're going to lose, we feel pretty strong and we don't feel like we will concede a goal.
"If anyone's going to score they're going to have to score a good goal."
The U's skipper, who missed much of the season through injury, insists he has no preference for opponents in the play-off.
"I think they're all decent teams which is why they're there," he said.
"Last year we were fighting relegation so I'm chuffed to bits to be in this situation, but now we're here we just want to beat anybody."
