Midfielder Josh Simpson has left Cambridge United to seek first-team football elsewhere. The 20-year-old had initially been offered a new deal, but Cambridge boss Jimmy Quinn was unwilling to guarantee him a first-team place.
Meanwhile, the U's have retracted their offer of a new contract they made to striker Daniel Chillingworth, 25.
Star striker Robbie Simpson, 22, is also expected to leave after Coventry City made an offer to the player.
However, as Simpson is under 24, Cambridge would be entitled to a fee if he moves.
