The 26-year-old has agreed non-contract terms with the U's after being released by Crawley last week due to their ongoing financial problems.

Former Barnet and Oxford midfielder Brown will then sign an 18-month deal in January to keep him at the Abbey Stadium until the end of next season.

U's boss Jimmy Quinn told his club?s website: "He ticks all the right boxes. He is a winner on and off the pitch."
