Cambridge chairman Lee Power says he will take his time selecting the next U's manager but hopes that he will make an appointment relatively quickly. Former boss Rob Newman was sacked by the club on 1 September.
Power told BBC Radio Cambridge: "I was hoping to have a manager in by the start of this week.
"The other directors have spoken to people but it's been a little bit disappointing but we won't rush because we need to get the right person in."
