Beck makes Cambridge return
John Beck
Beck back at Abbey Stadium for second spell
Cambridge United have named John Beck as their managerial successor to Roy McFarland.

The club's board of directors unanimously decided to appoint Beck after considering several applications for the position.

Beck's assistant has been confirmed as Shane Westley, who worked closely with him at Lincoln.

Both have been given contracts until the end of next season.

Beck enjoyed phenomenal success with the U's during a previous spell at the club.

He arrived at the Abbey Stadium in January 1990 and guided the Anglians to the FA Cup quarter-finals two years running.

Beck also lifted them from the old Fourth to Second Division in successive seasons.
