The former Wigan, Rochdale and Chester manager will cover in the absence of Billy Ayre who is unable to resume his coaching duties as he battles with cancer. The 47-year-old will assist manager Andy Preece as the Shakers look to end a dismal run of nine straight league and cup defeats.
