Morris not keen on contract talk

Blackpool-born Morris is still working on getting back to full fitness

Burton Albion striker Lee Morris says he wants to see his side achieve their promotion goal before talking about contracts for next season.

Morris told BBC Radio Derby: "We need to get this season out the way first.

"That's the same with most of the lads - take stock of where we are, what league we are in, find out who the manager is and take it from there."

The Brewers are nine points clear of second placed Cambridge in the Blue Square Premier.

Morris said: "I don't think now is the time to be talking about contracts. It's the time to be pushing and trying to get us out of this league."

The ex-Derby striker said he is pleased to be returning to fitness after injury problems earlier in the season.

"I'm getting more and more minutes on the pitch. That's the only way I'm ever going to get fit and fortunately the manager has been picking me, so I'm getting stronger and stronger.

"It took me longer than I thought it would to get fit but it's nice to be getting a little run towards the end of the season when it's all getting exciting."
