Burnley boss Brian Laws has recruited his backroom staff from previous club Sheffield Wednesday.

Laws is joined by goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer, chief scout Tim Henderson and fitness coach Tom Little.

Laws, who filled the vacancy created by Owen Coyle's move to Bolton Wanderers last week, had already brought in Russ Wilcox, his assistant at Wednesday.

Former Southampton and Northampton boss Stuart Gray has been named as first-team coach at Turf Moor.

Experienced defender Graham Alexander, 38, has also taken up a new role as player-coach.

Burnley lost 3-0 to Manchester United in Laws' first match in charge since Coyle left to take over at Bolton.

Laws had youth director Martin Dobson and youth coach Terry Pashley alongside him on the bench at Old Trafford on Saturday.

He parted company with Wednesday in December after a poor run of form, but quickly resurfaced in the Premier League with the club where he began his playing career.
