Jensen not expecting Denmark spot

Jensen has never won a cap

Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen is not expecting to be in Denmark's World Cup squad but has not given up hope.

Uncapped Jensen, 34, was promoted to the national squad in September for the World Cup qualifier against Portugal after Thomas Sorensen was suspended.

He told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I'm probably fifth in line in his [head coach Morten Olsen] point of view.

"At least now they've told me the door is open. The only thing I'm thinking about is trying my best for Burnley."

The former West Brom and AZ Alkmaar keeper has started every Premier League game this season for the Clarets, keeping three clean sheets.

But he is modest about his chances of going to South Africa, saying: "There's a bigger chance for [Peter] Schmeichel if he comes out of retirement.

"But hopefully I can find my way into the squad - we'll see, it's not my decision.

"It's definitely going to be my last chance, but fingers crossed it'll be enough at the end of the season but only time will tell."
