Burnley manager Owen Coyle has strongly denied that a medical has taken place at Turf Moor for Manchester United's Chris Eagles.

Reports had suggested that the 22-year-old midfielder was on the verge of completing a club record move to the Lancashire side.

Coyle told BBC Radio Lancashire: "There's nothing to update anyone on.

"Some of the stories are in advance of what they should be. When we make signings, I make statements."

All I would say is I deal in facts. Some of the stuff yesterday wasn't factual

The Burnley squad are preparing for the Championship season with a nine-day training camp in America where they will play friendly matches in Carolina and Minnesota.

Coyle has admitted that although he has already introduced five new faces to the squad for next season, he is still on the outlook for more.

"I'm not going to be banding names about because it doesn't serve any purpose. Suffice to say we are still looking to improve the squad and that's where we are."

"I've got interest in a host of players so it would be remiss of me to starting mentioning individuals. All I would say is I deal in facts. Some of the stuff yesterday wasn't factual.

"Given that we are in America it's probably physically impossible to do anything for the next few days. But, we will continue to try to bring the best players to Burnley Football Club."
