Unsworth will add considerable experience to Burnley's squad

Unsworth, 33, has agreed a 12-month contract with the Championship side after being released by Wigan at the end of last season.

Cotterill said: "He will bring great experience and great strength to our back four."

Unsworth, who also played at West Ham and Portsmouth could make his debut at Grimsby in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.
