Burnley have released defender Danny Karbassiyoon following an unsuccessful year-long stay at Turf Moor. The 22-year-old joined the Clarets last summer after being freed by Arsenal, but did not start a senior game.
He has had the final ten months of his contract cancelled and will now return to the United States.
"Danny has been extremely unlucky with injuries and it is probably best that he gives his injury time to settle," said Burnley boss Steve Cotterill.
"Therefore we felt, in the interests of both parties, it would be better to part company amicably."
Karbassiyoon was placed on the transfer-list earlier this summer but saw a proposed move to Holland fall through.
