Bowditch, 18, rejected the chance of a temporary move to Oldham Athletic but accepted the switch to Turf Moor to stay in the Championship.

"We hope he does well at Burnley and gets a few goals," boss Joe Royle told the club's website.

England under-19 international Bowditch has scored three times for Ipswich this season, but has been used mainly as a substitute by Royle.
