Harley has now completed a permanent move to Turf Moor |
Burnley have completed the signing of Sheffield United defender Jon Harley for an initial fee of 75,000. The 25-year-old had signed on loan so he could play in the Clarets' two games over the Bank Holiday weekend, but has now signed a three-year deal.
A further instalment of 75,000 will be payable, depending on appearances.
"Jon is young, he has already played two very good games for us and will be a great addition to the side," Clarets manager Steve Cotterill said.
Blades boss Neil Warnock had told his club's website: "He didn't have to go but with us having options in defence, he knew his chances would be restricted.
"Burnley wanted him straight away and we didn't feel it was right to stand in his way because he's a lovely lad and has been an asset to the squad."
It follows Burnley's double signing last week of Bournemouth midfielder John Spicer for 35,000, and Wolves defender Ryan Lowe on loan.
