The 34-year-old signed for the Clarets until the end of the season on Saturday after it became clear he no longer had a future at Everton.

"I have a couple of Premiership teams interested in signing me as well as offers from Dubai and America," Gascoigne told The News of the World newspaper.

"But I will wait until the summer before sitting down and considering all my options.

"If I like it at Burnley I don't see any reason why I should not stay here but all I am concerned with at the moment is helping them to get into the Premiership.

"I am feeling fit and sharp and there was nothing wrong with my form before I was left out of the Everton team.

"I won 10 man-of-the-match awards at Everton earlier in the season. I feel I can play for another couple more years yet at a high level," he said.

Gascoigne has also revealed that his decision to leave Goodison Park was not related to the departure of Walter Smith as manager.

"My decision to leave Everton had nothing to do with Walter being sacked.

"I wasn't in the team and was struggling to get going in training. So I went to see the boss just over a week ago (prior to Smith leaving) and told him I wasn't happy and wanted to move on.

"I wish Everton all the best. I don't want anyone to suggest I have deserted a sinking ship. I have made a lot of friends at Everton and I still love the place."

Premiership target

Meanwhile, Gascoigne is aiming to propel Burnley into the Premiership.

"It looks tough for us to win the First Division outright but if we have to get out by going through the play-offs, then we'll have to do it that way," he told BBC Radio Five Live.

"Burnley is a sleeping giant club that needs to be in the Premiership."

Gascoigne has already trained with his new team-mates and expects to make his debut against Bradford on Tuesday.

"They seem a good bunch of lads and there is great team spirit which is what you need.

"If you can take that onto the park, then you are halfway there anyway."
