Coles had been expected to return by early to mid-December

Bristol Rovers defender Danny Coles is unlikely to return this year as his rehabilitation from a torn cartilage is taking longer than expected.

The 27-year-old centre-back suffered the knee injury against Leyton Orient on 11 October and had expected to be out for six to eight weeks.

Meanwhile, fellow Pirates defender Steve Elliott is still recovering from a clash with Bas Savage in training.

Rovers' win over Tranmere on Saturday was their first victory in seven games.
