Ex-Bristol Rovers defender Christian Edwards has announced his retirement from football at the age of 30. Caerphilly-born Edwards, who won one full cap for Wales, was released by the Pirates at the end of last season.
He made 343 appearances for Swansea (two spells), Nottingham Forest, Bristol City, Oxford, Crystal Palace, Tranmere, Oxford and Bristol Rovers.
Meanwhile, Rovers midfielder Craig Disley, 24, has signed a contract extension until the summer of 2008.
Edwards will now begin a three-year sports management degree course at Cardiff University in the autumn.
