Bristol Rovers have signed striker Richard Walker on a one-year contract, with the option of 12 more months, after he impressed on trial. The 26-year-old former Aston Villa trainee will officially join once his contract at Oxford expires on 31 July.
Former Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth defender Jon Beswetherick, 26, is also joining on a short-term basis.
Rovers could offer deals to midfielder Liam Burns and defender Simon Ford, who are training with the club.
Meanwhile QPR boss Ian Holloway has criticised Bristol Rovers fans for hurling abuse at former Pirates striker Jamie Cureton in Tuesday's testimonial for Jamie Shore.
The former Rovers manager said after his side won 2-0: "He was one of the best strikers the club has ever had.
"Why couldn't they cheer him? He didn't want to leave, he just felt he should have been rewarded with a better contract.
"When you see players playing with their heart on their sleeve you should respect that - and he did that for this club."
