Broadhurst takes over as joint caretaker-boss at Bristol Rovers |
Bristol Rovers have appointed Russell Osman and Kevan Broadhurst as caretaker managers until the end of the season reports BBC Radio Bristol. Osman, who was formerly Bristol City's player-boss, has not been in management since leaving Cardiff six years ago.
Phil Bater had been in charge since Ray Graydon's departure but he reverts to the previous role of first-team coach.
Rovers are just three points from the relegation places after their 1-0 defeat at Boston United on Saturday.
But Osman is confident that he and Broadhurst can prevent the Pirates from dropping into the Conference.
"When you see a club struggling you offer your services and if I thought I'd fail I wouldn't take it on," he told BBC Radio Bristol.
"I spoke to one of the directors a while ago to remind him that I am a local coach and I am available if they needed someone to help out.
"Kevan also knows the leagues well and between us I'm sure we can do the job that needs doing."
