Johnson satisfied with derby win

Bristol City are off the mark in pre-season after a 3-0 win at local rivals Yeovil Town.

City beat the League One side on Monday thanks to a brace from Dele Adebola and a Michael McIndoe penalty.

Robins manager Gary Johnson told the club website he was satisfied with the level of performance.

"The team did well, although they became a little sloppy towards the end. That's to be expected in their first real 90 minutes," he said.

"We decided overnight that we would give most of the lads 90 minutes and we'll do the same at Hereford.

"We played our stuff and got a nice shape going. Generally we dictated the play and it was nice to see Dele [Adebola] score his two goals."

The match saw the return to action of youngster Jordan Walker after a cruciate knee ligament injury and Johnson was pleased with the defender's comeback.

"It's been a lonely old road for him, working hard day in, day out. We had to keep a check on him but he was very professional," added Johnson.

"He's got a chance now, he's got six months to a year more with us to see if he progresses like we thought he would."
