Bristol City have joined forces with local school Queen Elizabeth's Hospital to announce plans for a new 1m training ground complex in Failand. North Somerset Council have approved plans to develop the existing sports ground plus 23 acres of new land purchased by the school last year.
City boss Gary Johnson told the club's website: "A good training ground is worth 10 or 12 points in a season.
"This is major progress for the club and it's a very welcome addition."
When completed, the new complex will span 40 acres and it is intended to create high quality pitches for use by both the football club and the school.
QEH Headmaster Stephen Holliday said: "This partnership allows the opportunity to develop sporting facilities for the benefit of QEH pupils and Bristol City FC."
