![]() | Thursday, 7 March, 2002, 11:40 GMT Robins fail to lure Gazza ![]() Paul Gascoigne is staying with Everton for now Bristol City manager Danny Wilson has confirmed that he made an approach for Paul Gascoigne, but was told that the former England star was unavailable. Wilson says he wanted to sign Gascoigne on loan until the end of the season from Everton, to help in Bristol City's promotion push from Division Two. Chairman John Laycock told the club's website that he had been prepared to sign him on Premiership wages because of an anticipated increase in gate receipts.
