Brighton boss Gus Poyet expects to break the club's transfer record again this summer following Monday's £1m capture of Watford winger Will Buckley.
"I hope this is not the top signing this summer," Poyet told BBC Sussex. "I think we will break the record again.
"I've money to spend and anything we get from anyone leaving will be put on top of that. But I must manage it well.
"There will be teams in the division that spend more than us. The difference is we need to spend ours wisely."
The Uruguyan, who took over at Brighton in November 2009, added: "We need to see what is missing from what we have got in our team.

"They need to suit the kind of game that we play, which is more difficult.
"Sometimes you need to put a bit more in, in terms of the transfer fee."
