Brighton defender Adam El-Abd has agreed a new deal extending his stay until the end of the 2012/2013 season.
The 26-year-old has been a key fixture in defence this season as the Seagulls chase promotion to the Championship.
El-Abd told BBC Sussex: "To finally sign a contract that will see me through until the Amex [Brighton's new stadium] arrives is fantastic.
"As soon as they offered me this I knew I wanted to stay as I'm happy here both on the pitch and off it."
