Seagulls must keep foot on pedal, says Marcos Painter
Painter has been an ever-present in the League for Brighton this season
Brighton left-back Marcos Painter says they must go all out over the Christmas period to launch a successful start to the second half of the season.
The Seagulls still have a three-point lead at the top of League One.
But, after the postponement of the Boxing Day trip to Dagenham & Redbridge, they face a potentially gruelling three games in seven days.
"I think we all know as soon as we take our foot off the gas things can change," Painter told BBC Sussex.
"It's a nice thing to be top of the league, but we've got hard work to do in the second half of the season," admits the 24-year-old former Birmingham City left-back.
"I don't think there's much between the teams in this division. You see every week the teams at the bottom beat the teams at the top.
"But, if we keep going the way we're going, we won't be in a bad position come the end of the season."
