Brighton manager Gus Poyet is keen to make his moves for new faces early in the January transfer window.
Poyet, who took charge last month, is eager to bolster a Seagulls squad currently in the League One relegation zone, three points from safety.
He told BBC Sussex: "I'm not going to wait until the last minute. If I'm going to bring someone in, I want them on 1 January not 31 January.
"I'm not going to lose a month looking for players, so we are working on it."
Poyet is also set to decide on whether to extend the one-month contract of former Swindon goalkeeper Peter Brezovan.
