Brighton striker Jonny Dixon is hoping he can improve on his first start since his January move from Aldershot.

The injury-hit 24-year-old started in the win at Luton after a knee problem ruled out Nicky Forster.

He told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "I don't have the sharpness as if I'd played a run of games.

"It [League One] is faster, the players are better and make better decisions, but I am confident I can get involved at this level."

I'm here because the management think I'm good enough to fit in at this level

Dixon had seen just six minutes of action before the game at Kenilworth Road after his 56,000 move from the runaway Blue Square Premier leaders.

However, he remains confident of making the step up to League One.

"I'm here because the management think I'm good enough to fit in at this level - hopefully I will prove them right soon."
