Boss explains Savage withdrawal
Brighton boss Dean Wilkins said that he substituted goalscorer Bas Savage in Tuesday's 1-0 win at Gillingham because of referee Phil Joslin's performance.

"You find yourself having to make decisions based on the way the game is being officiated," he said.

"Bas came off as I had no confidence he would be able to stay on the pitch.

"With Bas back at his old club and with the crowd getting on his back, and already having been booked, I just felt it was more dangerous to keep him on."
