Brighton boss Dean Wilkins hopes defender Adam Hinshelwood can shrug off his latest knee injury scare before Saturday's game at Oldham. The 22-year-old limped off during the second half of Albion's 2-1 victory against Cheltenham at the weekend.
"He hasn't trained since then. We've given it as long as possible," Wilkins told BBC Southern Counties Radio.
"The swelling has gone down quickly and he feels much better so we'll give him every chance but we won't take risks."
Hinshelwood was ruled out from March 2005 until February 2006 after rupturing a cruciate ligament in the same knee against Reading.
He then suffered cartilage damage to the right knee in a pre-season friendly at Colchester in July.
Surgery was required again and he was out of action until October.
