Brighton striker Joe Gatting has signed a new three-year deal which will keep him at the club until 2009. The 18-year-old, who made his debut in January, is the son of former Albion defender Steve Gatting - and the nephew of ex-England cricket captain Mike.
"I've always dreamt of getting a professional contract, and hopefully this is the start of a long career," he told the club's website.
"It's fantastic that it's at Brighton - I can follow in my dad's footsteps."
Gatting has made 11 appearances for Mark McGhee's side, but is still awaiting his first senior goal.
