Hinshelwood has now suffered a ligament strain to his other knee |
Brighton defender Adam Hinshelwood has suffered a new setback which will extend his nine-month injury lay-off. The 21-year-old had been sidelined since March with cruciate knee ligament damage - and had been set to return for Albion's reserves on Tuesday.
But an MRI scan has revealed a medial ligament strain in his other knee.
"It's not as bad as we first feared but he'll still need to be in for treatment for two to three weeks," physio Malcolm Stuart told the club website.
"We think Alexis Nicolas might also have damaged his medial collateral ligament, but we won't know the full extent of the damage until he has a scan."
