Dyke backs Bees fans funding plea
Bees United have already raised 540,000
Former BBC director general Greg Dyke has backed a Brentford fans' consortium who are trying to buy the club.

Supporters trust Bees United need to raise 1m by the end of September to purchase Altonwood Holdings' majority stake in the League One club.

Dyke said: "I've been a Brentford supporter for more than 40 years.

"It's clear to me the club's long term future is best served by the majority shareholding being held by those who care most about the club - its fans."

Altonwood Holdings is owned by former Brentford chairman Ron Noades.

The supporters' trust have already raised 540,000 for the "Back the Bees" campaign, leaving them 460,000 to find over the next two months.
