Queens Park Rangers, Crewe, Yeovil and Cambridge had all been chasing Rhodes, who has scored 21 goals for Newmarket in the Eastern Counties League this season.

But the 21-year-old winger has put pen to paper on an 18-month contract with Brentford for an undisclosed fee.

Rhodes has also had trials with Norwich and Ipswich.
