Brentford have won the race to sign promising non-league winger Alex Rhodes. Queens Park Rangers, Crewe, Yeovil and Cambridge had all been chasing Rhodes, who has scored 21 goals for Newmarket in the Eastern Counties League this season.
But the 21-year-old winger has put pen to paper on an 18-month contract with Brentford for an undisclosed fee.
Rhodes has also had trials with Norwich and Ipswich.
