Bees chairman Ron Noades plans to sell Griffin Park, but no decision has yet been made about where the Bees will move to. And fans had been worried that the club could be left homeless, as Brighton were a few seasons ago.
John McGlashan, chairman of Bees United, the Brentford Supporters Trust, revealed that he had been offered a place on the club's board at the meeting. Noades threat And he said that Bees United were poised to become majority shareholders in the club after committing to enter into an agreement to take Altonwood's shares. McGlashan also reassured fans about the club's ground plans. "As things stand at present the club will continue to play at Griffin Park," he said. "But there is a possibility we may share a ground with another club in the future.
"We will only enter into a ground share agreement if we believe it is in the long-term interests of the football club." "Bees United will, as of now, take the lead in negotiating with the Council for a new stadium and the redevelopment of Griffin Park." Noades plans to retire as Brentford chairman this summer. But he has threatened to step down immediately if fans continue to criticise him over his plans to sell Griffin Park. In an open letter to BIAS on Monday he said: "The current position is that I will not be funding the club beyond the end of this season.
