Ian Campbell led Brechin to the Division Two title |
Relegation-threatened Brechin City have parted company with manager Ian Campbell and coaches Bert Paton and John Young. It follows Saturday's 5-1 defeat by Clyde, which leaves Brechin 10 points adrift at the bottom of Division One.
Club captain Paul Deas and goalkeeper John Hillcoat will take on a caretaking role until their committee "reviews the vacant managerial positions".
Campbell had taken over from twin brother Dick in January 2005.
Dick had moved to Partick Thistle, who were relegated from Division One while Ian led Brechin to promotion from Division Two as champions.
Ian, the club's all-time leading scorer, was voted Brechin's Cult Hero by fans in a BBC poll.
However, a poor season back in Division One has led to his departure as manager.
A Brechin statement said: "The committee are extremely grateful to Pink, Bert and John for the successes they have brought to the club and for the vast amount of time and effort they have dedicated Brechin City FC whilst competing in a very difficult Bell's First Division."
Hillcoat and Deas had been due to take charge for the first time for Tuesday's visit by St Mirren, but the Paisley club have announced that the match has been postponed because of snow on the pitch.
