Middlesbrough paid �1.5m for Wilson in 2001

Wilson has been playing in the United States since leaving Middlesbrough at the end of last season.

But the 27-year-old is keen to return to the English game and has been given the chance to prove his credentials in training with the Bantams.

Boro paid �1.5m to take Wilson to Teesside in 2001 but he started just 13 games and was loaned out to five clubs.
