Veteran Bradford City defender David Wetherall has signed a new deal to tie him to the Bantams until 2010. The two-year extension to his current contract, which was due to expire at the end of next season, will keep him at the club beyond his 39th birthday.
As part of the deal, Wetherall will be able to decide whether to continue playing or move in to a coaching role.
The former Leeds central-back played his 250th Bradford game last weekend, having arrived in June, 1999.
