Machin, who has been in charge at Dean Court for six turbulent years, will oversee the development of football for the Cherries. "It's an honour and a privilege to be invited onto the board and the move will allow me to concentrate much more on dealing with the long-term development of football at the club," he said. The former Manchester City boss will also assist in the stadium development. Day-to-day Head coach Sean O'Driscoll and player-coach Peter Grant will take over day-to-day team affairs.
He said: I'm delighted to take control of team affairs. Its an opportunity that I am obviously excited about and after 15 years at Bournemouth to have the chance to take on this job is a great honour.
