Kuffour signed for the Cherries in June 2007 from Brentford

Bournemouth striker Jo Kuffour could be on his way to League One side Bristol Rovers after submitting a transfer request, BBC Radio Solent understands.

The West Country club are believed to have stepped up their efforts to sign the Cherries hitman in time for Saturday's game against Hereford.

Bournemouth rejected a bid from the Pirates for Kuffour, 26, while they were in administration.

But Rovers are believed to have tabled a new bid of around �60,000.
